Students attend until the falsehood fails.
The Black Lantern University was founded upon a single principle:
"Truth cannot exist without the courage to examine what has been abandoned, feared, or forgotten." — Iren Vaelis, founding member of House of the Return, now deceased.
Out of six founding members, only one was on the correct path. The remaining five were more concerned with the appearance of self-alignment than doing the work of actual alignment.
Students are not taught to destroy shadow. They are taught to sit beside it without fleeing.
Classes begin in silence. Questions are written before they are spoken. No student may argue a position they have not first attempted to understand.
Masks are optional during lectures, though many choose to wear them regardless. Some truths are easier to survive indirectly.
“The lantern does not remove darkness. It teaches you how to walk through it.”
"What have you carried that was not yours? Whisper it to the current, and let the river hold it."
