Not a Library

"The hidden, ink-stained newspaper office located in the basement maze beneath the main registries."

🖨️ Entryway: The Press-Basement Maze

To find where the real history of the continent is recorded before the Scribes redact it, you have to bypass the high courtrooms entirely. Down a dark, forgotten flight of stairs behind the Tithing Well lies the basement maze. The air down here smells heavily of crushed charcoal, wet wood-pulp, and secrets that the Gendarmes would very much like to burn.

The iron printing presses rumble constantly through the flagstones, creating a rhythmic vibration that masks the whispers of the reporters inside. Look closely at your surroundings, not every wall here is built of stationary stone.

🕵️ Inside the Stacks

You pass row after row of heavy iron filing cabinets. A rogue Misdeed Ferret scurries across a stack of un-notarized warrants, a tiny ink-pad stain on its left paw.

If you are looking for the restricted files, someone has left a clue wedged beneath a loose brick near the floor fountain. It reads: "The true notebook pages don't smear, they smudge. There's a difference yes,but maybe read it anyway. Just in case."
