To weave magic safely, you must use Atheric, a phonetically stable language designed to prevent accidental emotional broadcasting. Magic requires three things:
The Law of Conservation: Magic must be paid back to the planet. You must pay an "Eco-Tithe" (like planting trees or picking up litter) within 9 days of weaving. Failure to do so will result in bad luck, or worse, being legally and permanently renamed to Phlegm Soupy Sam!
The bustling capital and Civic Center of Atheria. Visit the Giltway Registration Offices to pay your tithes at the Tithing Cafe, or file a complaint at the Chamber of Dissatisfaction (current wait time: 47 days). This is also home to the aggressive House of Pettiness.
A massive, floating star-shaped city. Home to the Celestial Dome Observatory, the oldest city shaped by the Goddess Celestira herself. Here, magic and science converge perfectly.
A strictly enforced neutral zone. Visit The Quiet Spoke Inn for a warm meal and acoustic neutrality. Just don't break the peace of the hearth, or every door in Atheria will be permanently locked to you.
Floating craggy peaks that house the Black Lantern University. Students here study philosophy, silence, and the art of hearing what speech conceals. Attendance is permitted only until your falsehoods fail.
A bioluminescent forest inhabited by fae-like beings with insectoid wings. Marvel at their architecture, cultivated into giant mushroom houses in cities like Sporehaven.
For those who break the law, Atheria offers public spectacles. Visit the Public Pit (bring your own wooden stake!) or take a tour of the Husbandry Farms, where offenders learn proper horse care.
